KAYAK THE STUNNING COLORADO RIVER

Wondering what it’s like to experience Horseshoe Bend from the bottom? This adventure, cherished by locals and visitors alike, features panoramic sights of beautiful Glen Canyon, excellent hiking and wildlife viewing, and the chance to explore petroglyphs that are located throughout Glen Canyon. We recommend setting aside an entire day for this journey. Kayakers also have the option to camp along the route, with trips departing from Lees Ferry, located just 15 minutes from Lees Ferry Lodge. Kayak the Colorado offers several time slots and dates throughout the season. Make sure you book this adventure in advance to ensure availability for your group!

THE NAVAJO BRIDGE

The Navajo Bridge is a historic and visually stunning landmark located on the Navajo Nation. California Condors (the largest land bird in North America) often nest near the historic bridge, making it an ideal spot to bird watch. The visitor center offers free parking, a gift shop, and historic information about the bridge. The iconic Navajo Bridge is the perfect viewing point for the Colorado River and makes for a great location to take pictures and marvel at The Grand Canyon. The bridge is a short drive from the lodge and is a must see while in Marble Canyon!

LEES FERRY 

Located just nine miles away, Lees Ferry is the launching point for boating, kayaking and fishing on the beautiful Colorado River! Prepare to discover a range of hiking trails suitable for all levels, each providing spectacular views of Glen Canyon, the Grand Canyon, Colorado River, Paria River, and the awe-inspiring Vermilion Cliffs. Be sure to visit Paria Beach, an ideal spot for a picnic where you can unwind and enjoy a refreshing swim in the river. We highly suggest exploring Cathedral Wash, Cathedral Rock Trail, Glen Canyon River Trail, and Waterhole Canyon for an unforgettable experience! Don't forget to book your kayaking adventure with Kayak the Colorado! 
 

BADGER CREEK OVERLOOK

Discover the breathtaking views at Badger Creek Point, right in front of VC Tavern! This stunning overlook offers a magnificent view of the Grand Canyon and the thrilling first rapids of the Colorado River. Just hop into your high clearance vehicle and enjoy a short 10 minute drive down a fun winding dirt road. It's an amazing spot for sunset viewing and stargazing!

RAINBOW RIM TRAIL

Discover the spectacular beauty of the Rainbow Rim Trail at the North Rim of The Grand Canyon. With its stunning panoramic views of The Great Thumb, this trail is a must-visit for nature lovers. Stand in awe at the Sacred Spot, where you can gaze down at the mesmerizing Tapeats Creek and the powerful Thunder River cascading from the canyon wall 2,000 feet below. WHITE POCKET

Get ready for an adventure at White Pocket, an off-road trail nestled in the stunning Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness. This magical destination boasts swirling, multicolored formations of Navajo sandstone that will leave you awestruck. Perfect for geology enthusiasts and nature lovers alike, the out of this world scenery here is simply unforgettable. Marvel at how millions of years of tectonic activity, erosion, and weathering have shaped these incredible rock formations. White Pocket is nature's masterpiece waiting for you to explore! 

This trail requires a high clearance 4X4 vehicle to access White Pocket. Lees Ferry Lodge has a Jeep Gladiator available to rent.

BUCKSKIN GULCH

Buckskin Gulch is the one of the worlds longest slot canyons. Located approximately 4.5 miles from Highway 89 on House Rock Valley Road. Buckskin Gulch is also often accessed as a hike from the Wire Pass Trailhead, 8.3 miles south of Highway 89 on House Rock Valley Road. Buckskin Gulch passes through 16 miles of unique formations and undulating sandstone walls in the northern stretch of the Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness. 

Permits are required for day-use and (Overnight-Use sold separately and in advance). The day-use fee is $6.00 per person and $6.00 per dog. For more information visit Buckskin Gulch Day Use Pass in Utah - Recreation.gov.

LONELY DELL RANCH

Lonely Dell Ranch is located near Lees Ferry in Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. This trail follows an improved dirt road leading back to the ranch and orchard with two uneven dirt trails leading to the ranch buildings and grassy picnic area. Walk among the fruit trees and pick what is in season. Watch your step, as hand dug irrigation channels help bring water to the orchard. Take care in extreme temperatures, and avoid hiking during the hottest parts of the day. Bring plenty of water. Beware of flash floods if you continue hiking up the Paria River Trail.  Pets allowed on trails. Keep on leash, no longer than 6 ft (1.6 m)
